When we prepare a toolbox, we think of all the equipment we need or can use to support and maintain our home, ensuring it stays healthy and in good shape. An emotional toolbox is similar, but it focuses on supporting and caring for your emotional and mental well-being.
The more tools you integrate into your life, the more emotionally supported you can feel when challenges arise. It’s all about finding what works for you personally—what helps you feel grounded and balanced. And that’s what makes it unique: what works for one person might not work for another. There’s no one-size-fits-all solution.
For example, cooking is pure relaxation for me. It feels like a form of meditation—my mind quiets, and I feel connected to the earth through the vegetables, fruits, herbs, and spices.
The beauty of this process is that the more things we try, the more aligned our toolbox becomes with our individual needs.
So, when overwhelming feelings arise or you feel upset, you can check your toolbox and use the tool(s) that best serve you in that moment.
Some tools you might consider adding to your personal toolbox include:
- meditation
- relaxation
- yoga
- qi gong
- cooking
- breathwork
- walks in nature
- journaling
- mantra singing
- and more ...
On our Stories-page, as well as through our Workshops, you can explore and practice different tools to build and expand your emotional toolbox.
