We have all experienced it before and for some of us, it is a way-to-often reality: a heavy head, tired eyes, headaches, or even migraine. Many people—especially women—experience these symptoms for various reasons, such as hormonal changes, overthinking, or simply having too much on their plate. Here are 5 simple tools to support you when this happens:
-
Drink water.
Dehydration can often trigger headaches. Replenish your body with room temperature water or herbal tea to soothe and hydrate. -
Pull your earlobes.
Your ears hold pressure points that can affect your entire body. Gently pull on your earlobes to help release tension. -
Use an eye mask.
The eye mask is designed to promote relaxation and calm. The soft fabric and small tulsi seeds inside provide gentle pressure to your eyes, which can help alleviate tension and headaches. My absolute go-to that has helped me every time! -
Apply gentle pressure above your eyes.
Depending on the type of headache, apply light pressure to the bone just above your eyes, where the nose bone meets your eyebrows. This gentle touch can provide relief. -
Breathe deeply and slowly.
Practice belly breathing. Take slow, conscious breaths through your nose, expanding your belly like a balloon. Let the oxygen nourish and restore your body. If you experience tension in your head or shoulders, exhale through your nose with your teeth slightly apart, making a soft humming sound like a bee: mmmmmm. This can help calm your nervous system.
